How to Find Articles

Having trouble finding articles? Find out where to start, and what to do when the article you need is not available at the UHSP Library.

Request it!

Need an article we don't have?

Interlibrary Loan is a FREE service for UHSP faculty, staff, students, residents, and preceptors.

Interlibrary Loan allows users of one library to borrow books or receive copies of articles/documents that are owned by another library.

What can be requested thru Interlibrary Loan?
  • articles from journals

  • book chapters

Is there a fee for Interlibrary Loan?

No! Interlibrary Loan is free for current UHSP faculty, staff, students, and preceptors. The Library does occasionally pay a small fee, but we don't pass that charge on to you.

How long will it take to get the items I requested?

Requests are generally processed the day they are received--please keep in mind requests are only processed Monday-Friday from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. After processing, articles are usually filled within 2-7 business days.

How will I know when my article is available?

When your article is ready, we will send a pdf copy to your UHSP email address.

What if I need to cancel a request?

Email us at Email with the name of the item you no longer need.
