My Lists
If you are signed into your Kanopy account, you can access your ‘My Lists’. In the area, you can view and manage your clips, playlists, watchlist, recently watched, comments, and more.
Clips
A shortened excerpt, or cut, of a video. Create clips to show in class or share with users when a particular section of the video is of interest.
Playlist
A set of clips or films that you created and collated. Playlists can be shared via a single URL.
Kanopy films can be streamed on or off-campus
Unlimited simultaneous views
Ability to save and share clips with your class
Create a playlist of required or suggested movies to share with classes
Use the App: A profile allows you to use Kanopy on device apps such as Roku, IOS, Android, etc

Access Kanopy via the UHSP Microsoft My Apps portal or the Library Database page.
Click the Sign Up button at the top right of your library's Kanopy website.
On the new page, enter your name, email address, and create a password, then click Sign Up. Or, sign up with an existing Apple or Google account.
Check your email for a message from Kanopy to verify your account.
Click the link and you'll be taken to your institution's Kanopy homepage, where you can now access the full menu of Kanopy features.
The My Lists page is where you can find your watchlist and custom playlists. It also keeps track of films and series you've started so you can pick up where you left off.
To access this page, select My Lists near the top-left corner. In the Kanopy mobile app, select My Lists from the bottom menu bar.
The My Lists page has three tabs:
Continue Watching shows titles you started but haven't finished. You can select a video to resume watching.
Titles will disappear from "Continue Watching" when you finish watching them. To remove a video from the list (website only), hover your cursor over it and select Remove from Continue Watching.
My Watchlist shows titles you've added to your watchlist.
Custom Playlists (website only): shows custom playlists you've created
If you have an account, you can create playlists and clips for any film on Kanopy. All clips and playlists are saved in your account for easy access.
To get started, select My Lists at the top of the page, then click the Custom Playlists tab.
From the Custom Playlists tab, select Create New Playlist
Give your playlist a name and click Create New Playlist
Search for a film and open the film's details page
Select the Playlists tab
Click the plus sign next to your custom playlist
From the Custom Playlists tab, select a playlist.
Select the Share tab.
Select Copy Link to copy a sharable link to this playlist.
From the Custom Playlists tab, select ... (the three dots) next to a playlist.
Click Edit to edit your playlist, or click Delete to delete it.
While editing a playlist, you can rename the playlist and edit or delete clips.
While editing a playlist:
Tap the trashcan icon to delete a clip.
Tap the pencil icon to edit a clip. On the "Edit Clip" screen, you can rename the clip or add a note to it. You can also set specific start and end times for the clip. Select Save Changes when you're done.
To create clips you will need to have a personal account and a saved playlist. For instructions on creating an account see the section above.
Log in to your user account in Kanopy Video.
Find the video you would like to create a clip from and click See More
Scroll down the page and click the Playlists heading.
Click the plus sign to add the video to a playlist.
Select the My Lists heading and click the link for Custom Playlists
Select a playlist and click the three dots under video images to edit the clips.
Clip Title: Title of the original video--you can edit this as needed
Notes: an empty text field. You can enter or paste as much text as you like.
Start time: 00.00
End time: (corresponds to the end of the clip)
Clip Length: length of the entire clip
Play your video, and navigate to the approximate place you want to start a clip.
Use one of these methods to create your clip:
Press Play on the video at the bottom of the page. Drag the scrubbers (two gray rectangles on the film's timeline) to the start (left scrubber) and end (right scrubber) points for the clip.
Type timestamps for your clip in the "Start time" and "End time" fields.
Click Save Changes to save your clip.
For a single clip, create a playlist of just one video and then edit it. For a playlist of multiple clips, add the videos to the playlist first, then edit the clips.
