Interlibrary Loan: Get materials not available @ UHSP

Find out how to get articles and books that are not available in the UHSP Library.

Requesting Articles

Who can request articles through Interlibrary Loan?

All UHSP students, staff, faculty, and preceptors can submit requests.

How much does it cost?

It's FREE! The Library occasionally pays for some articles, but we don't pass that charge on to our users.

How do I know my request went through?

When filling out the request form, you have the option to select if you would like a copy of the request emailed to you.
If you are unsure, just email ILL.Library@uhsp.edu and ask if the request went through.

When will my article arrive?

Short answer: 1-5 business days.

Long answer: Requests are processed by staff Mon-Fri, from 9am-4pm. Staff does not process requests after hours, on weekends, or over Winter Break. After processing we are usually able to get the article from another library within 1-5 business days. Once we receive the article, we will email you the PDF.

The Library can obtain most articles however, there are times when we can't obtain an article for various reasons. We will notify you if we are unable to fulfill your request.

What if I need to cancel a request?

Email ILL.Library@uhsp.edu to cancel your request. Please provide the title or citation information of the article.

How will I know when my article is available?

You will receive an email with the article attached as a PDF once it is received from the lending library.
