How to Find Articles

Having trouble finding articles? Find out where to start, and what to do when the article you need is not available at the UHSP Library.

Identifying Print Journals

Not all articles are available online

Occasionally you may come across an older article that we only have in print (aka a physical paper copy). If you see either of the screens below, the article you are looking for is only in print at the Library.

For those unable to come to the Library, please see the section below about placing an interlibrary loan request.

Locating Print Journals

Our journal collection is split between the two floors of the collection area: the mezzanine View from the Mezzanine overlooking the lower leveland the lower level.

  • Mezzanine
    • Journal Titles: A-O
  • Lower Level
    • Journal Titles: P-Z
    • New Journals (current year) and Popular Magazines

Journals are shelved alphabetically by title, then in chronological order--from the oldest issue to the newest issue of each journal. To help you navigate the journals, look at the endcap signs on each shelf. For help locating print items, please stop by the Library Services Desk.

Requesting articles in print @ the Library

The Library will scan and email articles from the print collection if you are...
  • Off-campus for a rotation

  • Off-campus during a break or for the summer

  • A Preceptor or Resident

  • A faculty member that is not able to make it to campus

If any of these apply, please fill out an Interlibrary Loan Request form and note that you are off-campus.
